Out of curiosity if my laptop has a lot of dust in it could that be the problem?

If it is dusty enough and been running too hot for too long, and not noticed, then yes it can and will cause components to fail prematurely. This is true for any type of electronics/computers, and even more so for a laptop with its limited cooling capabilities.
ill have to buy a can of air then to clear the dust out
Just wanted to let you know i found a post with a guy who has the exact same problem as me here
AMD Game Forums - 5650 switchable graphics not working
Added photo of my problem i think its to do with switchable graphics
Its says you have intel hd graphics when it should say (i think) you have radeon hd 5470 im pretty sure its nothing to do with dust
