I did it OK when I had Win 7 beta but since RC can't get a custom setting to stick unfortunately. In my case, as I'm not a gamer, I'm not concerned.

forcing 60 hz trough rivatuner works.
but some games refuse to run aka screen flashes.
trying force 59 hz trough source command line.
screen flashes again while i'm not forcing through rivatuner.

    why force 59 hz ?
    else media player crashes......
so for whoever thinks 59 60 hz 1 hz does't make a diference it does.
its giving nothing more then head ache and tons issues that i dont got under vista.
and no i dont care that 59 hz is 59.996 or 59.995 or whatever.
what i want is 60hz....... to work without forcing it like it does under vista.

I forced Windows to at least show 60hz using Custom settings in nVidia's CP and with beta drivers 186.08.

I´m also stuck at this too, not even the Catalyst CC can help me.

I see lots of user saying to stop wasting time, because 59hz and 60hz are almost the same, and impossible to notice for the human eye. Well, its a false statement i have to say: As one user already stated, there are a lot of applications and fullscreen 3d games that require that 1hz lack, because they are programed to follow the standard refresh rate of monitors. Most of them have problems running something like 1680x1050 @59hz!

Here are some examples: When working with large pictures and photos like i do in photoshop, lets say from 7 to 10 million pixels, there are LARGE problems refreshing the pictures, while dreagging them from side to side, even editing them.
Also, in games, for example, Pro Evolution Soccer 2009 reacts very badly to the 59hz problem, resulting in huge translucid squares sailing in the screen twisting everything in its way, even slowing the game so much ,it looses its playability.

Theres more: I agree in being difficult to notice the lack of 1hz, but people should know that eyes get a lot tired when screens are not refreshing properly, especially when working or playing fullscreen games for many hours.

Hope i dont start a war with this, im only trying to help others, and me of course.

    Cheers.

    Perhaps...

I stumbled upon RefreshForce's Home. I got there from a link on TweakGuides. Yes, it is an older program and makes no reference to even Vista. Yes, it refers specifically to a Windows 2000/XP refresh rate problem.

    Butt, it might work.
    Head on.

    You used the wrong "but"

You could choose to have it display modes "that the monitor cannot display." Right click on the desktop and choose Screen Resolution > Advanced > Monitor, and you'll see the refresh rate along with a checkbox underneath it. Just check off that box and see what you can do.

I am into self-referencing and apostrophic theory. Not all languages are read from left to right.

Got the new ATI CCC/Display drivers (9.6), crossing my fingers that this would be solved, besides the changelog saying nothing about it. No luck, im still stuck on 59, even choosing in 'list all modes'...

Ill get mad if this is on RTM...
