10.7 were a no go here too. They're almost as fast as 10.6 and not nearly as crisp.

You no longer see OpenGL support in any of the three versions past the Cat. 10.4 evidently. I've been hearing the same complaint on not seeing old titles able to run as well as the other problems. Hopefully they wll clear this stuff in the next few releases.

I'll have to pass that along to someone running into the atikmdag.sys problem even when reverting back to the Cat. 10.4. He was advised to simply clean everything off and go for the basic drivers only. Have to see if this one will allow some old titles to run in the meantime!

well done ati 3 consecutive bad drivers
still seem to be punished for overclocking gpu which results in stupidly high idle clocks
    10.5 was pretty bad
    10.6 was very bad
and 10 .7 particular with crossfire is just totally broken

    again well done ati

I just finished submitting some additional feedback on the three latest versions running into these types of problems with different makes and models powered by ATI drivers/catalyst. Hopefully they will look into this a bit for the 10.8.

The WDM drivers are no longer bundled with the full catalyst which could be something to consider as a cause for some problems. That's now a separate download. You can read that in the latest version's release notes.

Has anyone tried these yet? I'm curious if these would help fix my freezing problem.

    I did... deception...
Still on the 10.6 which is not the best yet as i heard, but i'm a "two-month-only "ati" user so i don't have an older one to try...
Anyway 10.6 is better for me than 10.7 (beta or not)...

    I begin to regret Nvidia...
