Thanks but like I said I'm not going to lose sleep over it as I like my overall settings just the way I have them set, especially my power plan.

Again the only issue I have is a slight delay when right clicking desktop items, which is not worth changing my PC settings over.

I was just curious if anyone else had this... some did some didn't.

    Thanks.

You might try shutting down non-essential processes and other start-up items to see if there is a conflict with anything. The fact that this seems to be an isolated incident might mean that it's something to do with your particular configuration. :)

Anyone else having problems with games crashing with the latest driver?

I tested it in Mass Effect 2, Civilization 5, Stalker Clear Sky, and Dragon Age Origins during gameplay they all crash to a black screen randomly.

This is not the case in the 10.8 or earlier driver, because I have tested. Anyone know what could be causing this? I've got all my latest updates, except the video driver now - if you need more information on my system specs just check my profile.

    Thanks.

Mine works ok. Playing Mass Effect 2 every day.

Do you have Crossfire setup? Maybe that's the case.

Yes I have Crossfire enabled. Even if disabling Crossfire solved the issue I wouldn't want to use the latest driver version since I couldn't make use out of my second card.

I've been using ATI cards for about a year now, since then I've only had minor problems. But until recently with the new Catalyst drivers 10.8 and later, my stability has went to crap. I can't get anything to run right, with 10.9, 10.10, 10.11, or 11.1. I revert back and all my problems are solved though. I've never had this many issues when I was using Nvidia.

Grab an empty hard drive and reinstall Win 7. Don't use windows update to install drivers. Maybe there's a new bios update. Don't overclock. mAKE SURE ITS NOT A RAM PROBLEM. Make sure you have the bios set up correctly instead of using the preload setup. Then try the new ATI drivers.

Something I have done caused me to get frequent BSOD's -- so I cannot conclusively say that the BSOD's I was getting when I first installed 11.1 was the fault of the drivers as I stated in my last post.

That being said, I reinstalled Windows and used 11.1... No problems at all.

Didn't work previously before I upgraded and I just did a fresh Windows 7 install last week. I download all my drivers manually.

I did a lot of testing, I tried each card out separately in each PCI-E slot just to verify my cards were still good and my expansion bays weren't damaged. I didn't notice any abnormal pixels or video artifacts, but I did not play any games. Now I have one video card in my main PCI-E slot and all my games run with our crashing.

Tomorrow I'm going to put my second card back into the other PCI-E x4 slot and bridge them together, however I will disable crossfire. IF the games continue to crash, I believe I might be suffering a power issue.

My PSU has barely enough power to support both cards, plus it's a cheaper Corsair version - not to mention I have multiple (4)120mm case fans, 2 500GB SATA drives, Quad core AMD processor, 4GB of DDR3 memory, plus a water cooler and radiator.

I think I'm exceeding the maximum limit of my power supply, it says its max is "700ws" but that doesn't mean it can achieve 700ws and still continue to run efficiently.

I'm looking at a few great power supplies ATM, because I intend to upgrade my video cards at a later date and will need a much better PSU anyway.

I'm hoping it's a power issue, because I can fix it immediately, otherwise I have to do more tedious testing.
