AHA! That's right. I can uncheck CCC if I just want to install just the driver.
At one time there was no "Install Manager" which provides the custom/express option, as there is today, which is yet another component from them. You just ran the downloaded file for the dedicated component installed by that file. And that is how I liked to run. As I recall I decided to use that method years ago when I occasionally ran into "install failures" and unsuccess when trying to run the consolidated install file, whereas the separates install files seemed to run successfully. Maybe I was just snakebit once, but it changed my approach going forward.
Ok. You've convinced me to forget about it. Even with the new "Install Manager" approach I still do take the "custom" option, certainly unchecking the SDK and transcoding features which I have no use for.
I'm not a gamer. Zero. And I mean ZERO.
I just run ordinary everyday Windows and 3rd-party standard browser and programs, I do use Windows Media Center to watch HDTV (previously with my HD4850 and now with my HD5770), and I use WMP or VLC to play videos.
And of course I actually do WORK on my machine, but again those are standard programs which make almost no demands of video capability.
My needs are very very minimal, as long as HDTV is perfect and my two Eizo 1920x1200 24" LCD monitors are supported perfectly by my dual-DVI HD5770 and Eizo Screenmanager Pro for LCD screen optimization software.

Installed 12.2 and I can't enable crossfire. I'll check around but it's back to 11.12.
When I enable crossfire in the control panel the setting would not stay enabled. But once you reboot the control panel shows it's enabled.
