AMD Catalyst™ 12.6 Beta Driver >>> AMD Catalyst

    Article Number

With the release of the AMD Catalyst™ 12.6 Beta driver (“Catalyst”), AMD would also like to announce that we are moving away from our Monthly Catalyst release plan. Our goal is to ensure that every Catalyst release delivers a substantial benefit to our end users; as we have today with the release of the Catalyst 12.6a Beta. We will still continue with the Catalyst naming convention; Catalyst: Year.Month. You just won’t see a new driver every single month. We are confident that this will only benefit the end user; you’ll only need to upgrade to a new Catalyst driver, when it makes sense.

We would also like to announce the introduction of our new AMD Issue Reporting Form. We made a number of improvements to the older Catalyst Crew Feedback form, making it more comprehensive, ensuring high quality feedback. Feedback is very important in every product company’s life, especially in our fast paced environment. This is not just a check-box for us – we take these reports very seriously. We will review every report posted here and investigate every issue encountered. Please use this form whenever you encounter something worth mentioning.

Tried the beta drivers, runs fine on my rig and played a couple games with no problems.Although performance is exactly the same as the previous driver for my rig,all I noticed is that some of the flickering i had in the witcher 2 went away so that's a plus. Gta iv on the other hand has problems now, getting the dreaded out of video ram problem when loading my save now.Guess il'l either rollback or wait until the official driver is out and try it again and see if the problem continues. All was fine with the previous driver and now gta iv has memory leaks, could be something with the game its self or the driver did something. As of now I will investigate some more and find out the source and see if rolling back drivers fixes it or not and try the game again today since that happened to me yesterday and see if the problem persist or not.

    EDIT:
The problem was with the game its self, a simple command line code in the main directory fixed the memory leak. Just had to type this in -memrestrict 681574400 and save it as commandline.txt in the main directory of the game.So the drivers are fine and having no problems with them so far.Using amd drivers 12.6beta with a 6870 gpu
