Before I forget, how do I turn off that dreaded HyperMemory feature? Some Google searches I did say to disable a non-existent setting in the registry, while others tell me to use ATI Tray Tools, which also doesn't do anything, because in my Display Properties, it still shows that my card still eats up to 767 MB of the main system RAM.

I also tried checking the BIOS; the only shared memory option there is the one for the onboard graphics which is Disabled for both.
I'd be inclined to double the RAM, meself..
that mobo should take 4Gig, I reckon..

Lately i've been having bad luck with drivers, rolling back but now i see that 12.6 is offical O_o? Don't know if I should go with 12.6 or 12.4 instead of 12.7. Also if I try to rollback like I mention eailer,my info wont update and still say 12.6 even though I put 12.4.,same thing if I change to 12.7

Honestly 12.6 would be ok 12.7 Will Degrade your WEI

Hence I went back to 12.4 Mind you I installed 12.7 After a clean Install of Win7

So I take it has many issues before giving it a Thumbs up

To me it isn't any good yet until they do some more changes
YEah I just tried the 12.7 driver out of curiosity yesterday and man is it broken, skyrim crashes like crazy and get the display driver has stopped and recovered error and my games went 10fps down so I went back to 12.6 which performs well and gets higher fps. Put 12.6 back and got rid of the skyrim issue, amd still needs to work a lot more on this driver because right now 12.7 imo sucks and needs lots of issues fixed.

Indeed, 12.7 is Crashamatic - instant black screen lockups on the A-series I play with.
I too retreated to 12.4 - apparently 12.6 is uninstallable on AMD's own E-series .... if anyone can prove different I am ALL EARS

I'm currently running with this BETA, it could form the upcoming 12.8:
    AMD Catalyst 12.x (8.982.0.0 RC1 July 19) Unofficial BETA - Guru3D.com Forums

    - everything is OK, including crossfire..

    - Skyrim runs OK, as does BF3, and Diablo3
    - no problemo, etc, etc..

NB. - there's a list of supported cards - it includes "E" series..

So there skipping 12.7 all together? nothing but Beta versions im not sure how solid these are because the 7 series cards still have issues

I get random driver crashes and sometimes lockup during Game play these 7970's aren't all that special when the drivers just plain out suck micro stutter and all

    It's gotten better though

the AMD numbering system was kinda semi-abandoned a while back..

    - there's quite a few 12.7 BETA's floating about, it's a question of finding the right one
    - some are better than others at specific 7*** series cards, for example..
    - seems it's a matter of picking the one that works best for your hardware..

    - anything pre-5*** will use the 12.6 LEGACY driver, until it's updated..
    - AMD say it'll be 6-monthly reviews for that one..

    Hello Richard,

It's still showing 12.6 at those links for me. Maybe they'll be updated later.
