13.x are the worst Catalyst ever for my 7970M: almost every game I have causes black screen & system hang (nothing works, not even CTRL+ALT+DEL) after a while also at default clock (no overclocking). I can't play anything since 13.1 for more than 10-30 mins.
Google search shows thousands of users with the same problem with this new driver family.

What a pity, they have good performances and definitely solve flickering textures in games like Skyrim...

    (Tested with Catalyst 13.1, .2, .3., .4, .5, .6, .7)

Same here with HD5770 series. I have spent over two weeks trying to play Assassins Creed III but it continued to freeze/crash. Tried everything suggested out there without luck. After reading your post I went back to version 12.11 (the oldest I had saved) and all freeze/crashes stopped.

The problem is that the first thing suggested is to upgrade the video driver. So users continue to load 13.x beta versions (1 thru 7) that never solve the problem. Makes you wonder if it is time to say goodbye to AMD video cards and try something else.

that's strange, the 13.1 WHQL driver should work OK with your card..
from what I've read, it has been pronounced "stable" for 5*** series cards..

I've had no problems with the 13.2BETA7, apart from having to trim the settings for FC3
Skyrim looks really nice, and BF3 goes like a train - when I can access their servers..(!!)

You're absolutely right. 13.x worked fine with FC3. Not one single problem. It also worked fine with Dishonored. It is with Assassin's Creed 3 that I have issues. Since I dropped 13.x yesterday, I have not had a freeze/crash with the game. I will go back to 13.x (or higher) when I finish AC3.

No issues with the drivers here expect for hitman absolution were I had to set ssao to normal because I would get a direct x crash when settings ssao to high so it's not the video drivers but I searched it on goggle and it's more of a issue with the game. Decided I would give them a go for the heck of it with these beta drivers and seems stable so far with my xfx 6870.

Ok now i'm having problems, had to roll back to non beta drivers. Max Payne 3 would randomly crash for me. :/ Hopefully the beta drivers mature by the time of the official release.
