    Hi

I don't know wheather 9.5 or the new Vitakey version makes the trouble in combination with the 7000 but may be sb knowes the reason.

Since today BF2 stopped starting, every time I try to, I get the message, that I should put the CD in but the DVD is in there -.-

I reinstalled BF2 and now I am not sure wheather I should deinstall Vitakey or not.

    Greetings
    Julian

I have no idea what to do... I'm just trying to do a simple install, however it will not install CCC, it doesn't even show it as an option when trying to install it from the 9-5_vista32_win7_32_dd.exe file from AMD's site, i have tried running compatability as Vista SP1, SP2 neither of those work, I have a 3870 X2 in a Alienware m17 running windows 7 build 7100, I just want the Control Center and I don't understand why it will not install it... reminds me why nVidia is better, no stupidity with drivers

The driver and CCC should install without any compat modes etc.

There is no option to install 'just CCC'. It's automatically installed as part of the installation process.

What exactly is it telling you after clicking on the .exe?

Running CCC with a different driver version is not recommended.

In the post from this thread linked below there are screenshots, there you can see that the CCC is a component being installed. Yes it may decide to install it automatically but in my case it does not list it in the box indicating that it will be installed, and also I can not find ccc.exe on the hard drive anywhere. Now in an attempt to manually install it I have ran the MSI files for it that are in the package downloaded and well then i get the options and the program but of course the program will not launch and tells me I am missing files. I have undone all that mess and am back to not having the CCC installed at all.

I was lucky with the 9.4 version installed the new 9.5 and then the problems begin, oh I forgot to say upgraded to a HD3870 video card before installing the 9.5 driver and CCC center but have no CCC and have tried all different ways to get it to install but no go. Using ATIToo0.27 to control the fan in the card which was to load for my media center system. Now it says I have the 9.5 installed with driver version 8.612.0.0 in device manager but no CCCcenter. Working fine other than that issue.GPU Enviramnet tempature is a little off I think but the GPU stays arount 35 to 50C.

hmm, you're right. I've installed cat drivers that many times, I've stopped taking notice....

Re-running the installation should install CCC for you.

However, when the Cat installations get a little messed up, it's always best to start from scratch.

Download Driver Sweeper and install it:
    http://www.guru3d.com/category/driversweeper/

Uninstall "ATI install manager" from control panel/uninstall programs and let it remove all ATI components.

Reboot into safe mode and run driver sweeper. It must be 'run as admin' . Make sure you only select ATI and then select analyse first to verify that's all your removing. Then clean the drivers.

reboot normally and re-run the driver installation again. Both the driver and CCC should now be correctly installed.

Yes tried the uninstall method and many other methods a dozen times still get the same results it even tell me i have the CCCenter already installed working great so i am going to leave it alone till I get the final version of 7 or it starts giving me problems any body running crossfire on a P5k Asus MB with the HD2600XT cars and how do you deal with the sata cable at the back of the card.

That's odd. Uninstalling The ATI Catalyst install manager should have removed CCC. Running driver sweeper as 'back up', should have finished cleaning everything else the installer misses.

The RC is essentially the 'final' version so you could be waiting needlesly. However if it's working at the moment, leave it as is

I'm not sure what you mean by a sata cable in the back of the card though?

The sata slots are right at the end of the card in fact the card goes past the spot were cables plug into, for the crossfire lower slot. So I decided it is not worth the extra hassle to try and install the second HD2600XT card on that system. I might sell the card instead or keep as a spare.
You can see how far the card goes past the cooling fan into the sata cables. This system has the HD3870 in it but the other one is the same video card as in the pic.
