I expercienced some bugs when i tried to upgrade from 7000 to 7048.
None of the catalyst driver ever installed properly... I had to let the generic windows drivers to get my two HD3870 to work. :-/

Use Driver Sweeper to remove all the old drivers then install the new ones. Worked fine for me now 9.2 is working great on build 7048.
That's what i did. But i need to mod the drivers because i'm running a laptop, maybe the mobility modder is responsable.
Smarteyeball, have you found a solution for this problem yet? I too just want to swap displays when I use my projector, so it's pretty annoying that I'm not able to do so. I'm just using the most recent Windows 7 Beta drivers but maybe I'll try some Vista drivers to see if that helps.
I'd normally update, but it's probably a big download and with 7 RC coming, may wait.
My beta_w7-32_8-56-1-081203a-72489 drivers and control center are working fine. Even have ATI Overdrive and have card overclocked.
Card: ASUS EAH3450 (with V-cool heat sink) no fan. Super quiet.)

Thanks for the response. I guess that's why they're beta drivers.
By the way, I've had a bit more success with swapping the displays by bringing up the context menu on the desktop and clicking on "screen resolution." There's also a box that you can tick there to choose the primary display. It seems to work when I do that but forgets which one is the primary after reboots sometimes.
I must be doing something else wrong, when I try to put in the 9.2 for vista it knocks out both screens, then I go thru the booting from disc and go back in time to get the windows 7 drivers back. When I try the xp 64 drivers they don't install. When I install Vista and up-grade the drivers overwrite and I'm back to the beginning. I'm of the firm beleaf that the only option for anyone with a new ATI card is to buy an NVIDA card, my brother runs one and doesn't have a problem
I have tried the 9.2 Vista drivers for my radeon 9600 but these do not seem to work. It gives an failure when installing the driver.
Also what I experience with the 9.1 is that once I have MCE running on the TV (via TV-Out) that it consumes a lot of CPU (up to 80% with a Duo Core 3 Ghz Intel CPU). My feeling is that the 9.1 drivers are not working 100% with Win 7 and multiple displays. Anyone else who experiences this problem? Or anyone who knows what is going on?
Anyone knows when is ATI coming up with a driver for the older (cq Radeon 9600 etc) cards for win 7?
Got a laptop with an X1300 and all I'm getting so far is installers getting stuck at "enumerating source media", the new catalyst install manager just doesn't work that well for me at all
