10.6 "seems" like they're a little faster than 10.5, and it "seems" like the image quality is just a tad better in BF:BC2. Load times are a few seconds faster than 10.5 too.

I've not run FRAPs, but since I didn't for 10.5, I wouldn't have anything to compare.

Unfortunately, because of the incredible amount of lag going on, on apparently just about every server due to EA backend issues, I can't say for certain... but they're not bad at all.

Wow - 10.5 must have been bad to have 10.6 released so early by comparison.

Obviously 'leaking betas' or releasing 'previews' are paying dividends

Ah well, "Once more unto the breech..."

10.6 works exactly like 10.5 for me. The driver did not install correctly and after the 10.6 install completed Windows reported no driver installed. After I rebooted the driver did install. However, Soldier Of Fortune still will not run. I've went back to 10.4 that installs correctly and everything works including SOF (the only game I have installed).

I'm not putting my eggs into this basket!

10.5 has NOT been any problem for me, but as things go, everyone here will be posting of the fixes 10.6 has done for them and I'll be the one having problems with 10.6.

This round, if it ain't broke, I'm not going to break it

again with the 10.6 drivers im having problems with my 2d clock speeds what are usually
    GpU Clock 125
    mem clock 300

but with these 10.6 and 10 . 5 are now
    GpU Clock 400
    mem clock 1445

and yes before anyone asks ive installed the drivers properly and uninstalled the others
alot of people are experiencing the same problem when i search the net
i dont understand why ATI are rushing the drivers out
when there still not fixing big problems

Hmmm.... you should see what they're saying here.... 10.6 now available! - Rage3D Discussion Area. Especially with regards to Battlefield: Bad Company 2

Perhaps they should let those betas sit out longer

lol, I saw that after I installed these things.

I did an in place upgrade over the 10.5 officals for a change. That wasn't a good move.

And after playing AC2, I noticed one GPU wasn't working - lo and behold, crossfire was completely disabled.

So after the old uninstall, driversweep yada yada everything 'seems' to be working okay now. To soon to say what else is / isn't working.

Somehow it did manage to fix the weird 'eyefinity defaulting to of 6080x1200 instead of 5760x1200' bug that got introduced with god knows which driver.

As for the 2D clock speeds, mine have been 400/1000 since 10.4 - Maybe it's just a 5970 thing, because they haven't kept changing like the other 5xxx series have.

It was originally a tongue in cheek joke about them breaking, fixing, breaking again - but now I'm completely baffled as to how they manage to do it.

It really does boggle the mind how they consistently keep breaking their fixes, over and over and over again. Seriously, What the hell are they doing?

It's even more mind boggling when the issues are known and complained about. The beta testers over at Rage get an ear full because they're constantly telling the end users to post bug reports, which the end users do.... and the issues still don't get fixed, or as you've noted, old fixed issues get broken again!!! WOW!!!

That's the one main reason I won't do crossfire. I truly believe ATI's crossfire is problematic. I can't/won't comment on Nvidia's since I've never owned or used an Nvidia product.

As for ATI's single card solutions, I've never had any issues there so...
