If you didn't restart following the initial installation that probably finished up when you started the system up again. That's when the drivers started fully loading the way they should. blackramair

The 9.6 was posted on June 15th and was just seen at the ATI support page meaning those are still in beta form at this time. The 9.7 will be out likely in few weeks if the beta version is already available for download.
beta or not, they are whql (not sure about the hdmi driver tho as i haven't installed it) and they're working well here :)
just thought i'd post them for people who like to have the latest or don't mind betas
just another option
That would be good for those having problems with the last few versions released and were ready for something a bit newer or simply want to look over any particular improvements to be seen in the next general release.
Here I didn't even need to update from the 9.4 a good number of people ran into problems with unlike the version that originally came on the software disk when the card was new. That's where I could have used the beta for the 7.10 catalyst due to the headaches and just about totally useless patch ATI came out with for the 7.9!
how do you guys install these drivers on windows 7 X64? I've tried everything, including the "have disc" option under device manager but it says it does not work.
tried it did nothing
i had no problems installing in win7 7264 x64, i just extracted the rar and ran setup
what card do you have?
