hi everybody
I have a little problem, I'm running windows 7 rtm 7600 (64bit) on my hp pavilion with an ati hd4500.
The driver is installed but I can't seem to get the catalyst center to work. I've installed the 9.7 driver and everything seems to go well with the installation, it even says, installation completed, but the catalyst center isn't enywhere to be found. When I go to the folder ..programfiles/ati technologies the folder is just empty. my laptop says the ati install manager is installed but the catalyst control center not. I had the same problem when I was running the windows 7 rc.
I've tried to install the ccc from the extraction folder on c:/ati but still same problem.
Can anybody tell me what's wrong?
Thx
Dani
I have this problem too ( HD4330 on HP 4510s) .How to fix that ?

The site called guru3d.com carries all the catalysts for XP, Vista, and 7 alike seeing both 32bit and 64bit flavors for the latest 9.7 back to the old AGP 5.xx catalysts. When not seeing the 9.7 go right on here the answer of installing a fresh copy of the 64bit RC was obvious. A 3rd clean on a third bare OS drive also saw the 9.7 go right on without fuss showing a Windows related problem is the most likely cause!
I don't understand what do you want to say ? I think that problem is only in mobility catalyst , regular 9.7 catalyst work ok on regular PS's.
yea i have the same problem..the installation works..but its not anywhere..i cant find it
The one thing to remember about 7 until it's out in retail form is that there will still be some quirks. Even after any new version is first out patches and other updates addressing problems on updates or in Windows are addressed in those. I will say that 7 has been found less buggy in beta and later then with previous versions.
But i cannot setup anything without CCC. My Notebook is connected with plasma via HDMI, and i cannot do anything without CCC ,sad, but Nvidia FTW.
Not sure if this is the best place to post this, but I am STILL dealing with the atikmdag.sys BSOD.
I have tried everything that I can find from uninstalling, cleaning, using one monitor, etc. Even with the new drivers I am still getting the same issues. Not only on &, but vista as well.
I have a 4870 X2 Radeon, Intel Q9400, 8g ram.
If I do a fresh install and let windows install drivers all is good until I try to game, then POOF!!
Has anyone found an answer to this or is it that i need to find myself another card or....
I want to game again.....
Thanks
