Would that legacy driver perform better than the vista driver I use now (in Win 7)?

Hi, newbie here. The reason why I joined this forum is because I have the same issue as you all are but concerning dual monitors.
When my W7 was on RC , it was running well on dual monitors either with MS drivers or later part I installed the ATI drivers.
A few days ago I installed the retail version of W7 Ultimate but dual monitor set up won't work.If single , (either VGA or DVI or HDMI ) works fine.I"ve installed and reinstalled (countless time !) the drivers , still won't work.Any ideas anyone ?

my graphic is onboard AMD Radeon HD3200..and I even swapped the cables a few time thought that it was faulty.

Any details on what you did to get the install for the 9.1 drivers to work?

Running Windows 7 RTM x64 here with dual radeon 4870's and the Catalyst Install Manager pukes on install everytime.

Try it with compatibility on first, see if that makes a difference. Shouldn't need to though.

    Hotfix available, too

I upgraded Vista Ultimate yesterday to Windows 7 Ultimate. It rocks! Small problem, though. My Catalyst had to be uninstalled prior to, and didn't want to reinstall afterward, correctly. Dell was of no help as I have a 6 month old loaded Studio 1535, which wasn't eligible for the free Win 7 upgrade. Little did I know, even thought the Microsoft advisor said OK, Dell wasn't and no where did I find that on their website. After an extensive and frustrating chat with a Dell service tech, I found the hotfix myself on the ATI website. It is not on the Radeon 3400 series driver update page. I found it by Googling. I uninstalled the driver, reinstalled, then applied the hotfix. Perfect!

Do use the uninstall tool in the driver, then your favorite registry clean-up tool, reboot, and install the latest driver, then apply the hotfix. All should go well. Good luck!

I wouldn't suggest using a registry clean up tool.

Instead there's something you can download to remove ATI drivers, I can't remember what it's called.

Boot in Safe Mode, run Driver Sweeper, then CCleaner.

    You're good to go.
