Might as well change my name to driver breaker too, as I have the same problems.
Nice going ATI...nice one.
Instead of driver breaker, how about DRIVER DOMINATOR ?, I got Catalyst 9.4 installed! IN YOUR FACE ATI!
In the end I got it by doing an express install where catalyst installed, but the drivers didn't. Catalyst then informed me it was incompatible with the current drivers.
NEXT:
Device manager > Display adapters > update driver software.
THEN:
Browse my computer for driver software > Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer > Have disk
Then pointed it to:
C:\ATI\Support\9-4_vista64_win7_64_dd_ccc_wdm_enu\Driver\Packages\Drivers\Display\LH6A_INF.CH_78303.inf
It installed and one re-boot later it's done with crossfire re-enabled :)
The small step I missed was the "have disk". I was just pointing to the folder itself. My fault for following a bad direction on the amd forums
What a PITA installation that was
I'm glad you got it to work SE...I can't even get past the "Install" "Uninstall" window before it crashes. I can't get to the custom or express window.
lol :)
You might be better off going straight for the safe mode /driver sweeper root and hope the issue goes away I wish I could help you here, but I never encountered the errors you did
At any rate maybe you should stick with cat 9.3 - 9.4 has re-introduced the 2nd card stuck at high clock speed and the inability to adjust 2nd card fan speed. It's even ignoring the .xml profile. So near, so fail
Look above. :)
The ATI External Events Utility Service is now called the AMD External Events Utility
lol, cross posting Good to see mate :) ...Although is that still the 9.3 CCC? (compare the Catalyst Control Center version number with mine)
I've sorted the fans out(you can now independently adjust each card in ATI overdrive)
Now I'm just stuck with the 2nd card running at full clock at desktop
I was right about these drivers making me work....
