Just a heads up for any HD 4xxx series users and BFBC2 players the long load time fix is missing from the 10.5,

    Terry Makedon (CatalystMaker) on Twitter

RT @cavemanjim: @CatalystMaker - BC2 long load times back with 10.5? ME - was supposed to be there - found out its not. Will get hotfix ready
so if you're using or were using 10.4a stay with them till the hotfix comes out.

This may be a silly question but okay ... I prefer to ask than die in ignorance. Before anything, notice that my English is not very good.

Recently got an HD4650, and after a series of doubts and difficulties I am just using the original drivers that came with the card.

I had tried using the version 10.4 but I had doubts even in the choice of files.

Accessing the link of the first post I referred directly to the choice of operating system and model. The result is the URL to download Catalyst 5.10 Hotfix.

So ... while with the installation of original drivers, this is the ideal setup? And in case a fresh install of the OS I would use just the same file to install the drivers and the software?

Another search on AMD's website brings me links to two distinct and different from the first mentioned (ATI Catalyst ™ Display Driver / ATI Catalyst ™ HDMI Audio Driver). I don't need to say I'm lost, right?

Well, thank you very much for all patience and attention.

Probably because you have left overs from the previous beta CCC you were using. Have to get rid of everything from the older CCC/drivers.
Running an Eyefinity setup, I have found that the setup is very, very finicky! My new driver install routine is always uninstall via Catalyst Install Manager, reboot into Safe Mode and run Driver Sweeper, then reboot again to install the new drivers. If I try to install the new over the old, I run into problems -- and not always readily apparent.

As long as they are the correct drivers for the OS, then yes. Seven drivers for Seven, XP drivers for XP etc

As long as you download the full Catalyst suite - it will contain all the drivers you need.

I've heard so many mixed reports about these 10.5's, I think I'll stick with the 8.74's for a while longer.

The only thing newer with the officals is the CCC itself and the OpenGl driver.

This was the first problematic Cat. version seen here since the 7.9! I went to chill for a few hours with one of the older games that never runs into any problems and I ended up with "stashhash_c65" as the "check online for a solution, close program now" popup appears for 3 or 4 attempts.

Once the setup was started to see the uninstall option used and a few restarts to get that off and the 10.4 back on all was well.

I would recommend waiting for the 10.7 or 10.8 since the 10.6 will be slightly better but not fully fixed as was the 7.10 to 7.9. Forget any patch since the 7.9 saw one that was also worthless!

Latest 10.5 Cat drivers... (Display Driver - 8.732)

I was getting a non-response coming out of sleep, PC remained on a black screen, keyboard unresponsive (caps key stopped working).

Rolled back to previous version and everything is back to normal.

The 10.3 gave me a problem at first but was short lived once I had everything going on the new build here. The 10.4 went right on and had been running 100% until trying the 10.5. From there it was back to Square #1 all over again!
