The 10.5 is buggy and this only confirms that further unfortunately for anyone who missed getting the 10.4 while that was up at the support site.

My P5K Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit works perfectly so far with the 10.5 CCC with a HD5670 video card.

You ran into the same problem with the patch I ended up seeing with the one for the older 7.9 version. Without even using the software disk for the card on the last build the latest when new was the buggy 7.9 and later patch where I had to wait for the 7.10 just to get everything on!

That sound quite like what I saw with the 9.4 where many saw hassles with that one while it went right on here without a hint of any problems. For the most part the buggy versions always seem to work out for a few select makes and models while the rest will see some problem.

I think I'll just stick with the mysterious 8.74 drivers - less glitchy overall than 10.4 and 10.4a with this card.

By the sounds of it 10.5, by and large 10.5 is not going to be remembered fondly.

    lol, I don't.

Although headaches aside, the main issue was with the installer itself. Once you manually pointed device manager to the driver, it was quite a fast release from memory.

You are right though, they are trying to cover too many varying cards with 'one driverset fits all'.

Before AMD bought ATI out you would see 2-3 model lines covered and then discontinued from support real fast. But you rarely ran into too many Bad Cat.s since they would drop model lines too fast being another problem to contend with.

I'm suprised that AMD hasn't followed suit like Creative did by having a selector for each model series as well as type of card when you first arrive at the support site. That would allow for covering the increasing number of model types in each series as well multiple series in progression to divide things up a bit.

I must live right or something, because I've had
nothing but praise for ATI's drivers.
