That's strictly for Crossfire setups. Even the page there cautions about that. It's for all versions 32bit and 64bit alike XP, Vista, 7 seen at the ATI support. Drivers & Support | GAME.AMD.COM

Did you read the review on the other page as far as description?

AMD provided us with a new CrossFireX Application Profile today that its claims fixes and improves scaling with CrossFireX performance, particular in two titles, Aliens vs. Predator and Battlefield: Bad Company 2.
    CAP 10.8a - ATI CrossFireX Application Profile 10.8a Performance | [H]ard|OCP

It's written mainly for improving performance with Crossfire setups. Notice that review centers on two recent game titles as well not the older games were the problems are being seen.

Whie it may be a fix for the recent when only one card is present it was never intended to address the OpenGL issues people are now seeing with the older ones.

Found this Website does a pretty impartial 'assessment' of Catalyst drivers each month and double checks AMD? claims for improvements each month.

Also recommends for last two months, to stick with 10.4's!

They started with a large change seen with the 10.5 version and still haven't seen everything worked out yet from the looks of things.

"frame rates be none and gaming not be non existant" would be a better analogy for those running older titles. That article recommends going back to the 10.4a or 10.5 where the problems began in the first place.

Apparently in the rush to outpace NVidia's SLI they missed on the more basic elements as far as gamers are concerned. Now to see them bounce back from this over the next few.

looks like 10.6 is last driver without major problems (except old opengl titles).

That will be a help for some people. Here's the notation on this one.

Note! This hotfix is provided as is and is not supported by AMD. It has not completed full AMD testing and is only a driver update.

That should hopefully make a lot of disgruntled 4870x2 users happy. They've been screwed for months.

I'm still stuck with the 10.4 here for the time being and certainly now the feeling of being in the same club they have been in. At least that will solve their hardware side of things with that.

I have a problem with this, when I start up my PC I get this "WARNING" saying:

"The Catalyst Control Center is not supported by the driver version of your enabled graphics adapter. Please update your ATI graphics driver, or enable your ATI adapter using the Displays Manager."

I tried both things, but couldn't find the options to do so.
I looked at the link in this thread, but none of the options give me to chose for the videocard I use (NVIDIA GeForce GT 240).

    What do I do?
