Nvidia Driver Problem Affecting Gameplay

Basically when installing nividia drivers on my monitor i have to manually insert the edid data to get a clear and crisp display and I then have to set a custom resolution to 1366*768 rather than 1360*765, which is fine and I had to do this with my HD4670 too, minus edid bit.
Now because, i assume, i have put edid data into the install data for the driver windows wont show any res above 1360*765 unless manually added. Even when manually added games do not always pick this up and sometimes forces me to use the 1360*765 res. I cannot change this even by adding lines to the shortcut to force the res, for example in fallout new vegas it says my display does not support this res and left 4 dead automatically goes back to the lowest res it can.
Other games, like bad company 2 pick up the custom res and allow me to play on it with ease.
The problem with 1360*765 is that the left edge of my screen ends early and is a few pixels too short, the pixels after this, the few there are, are refracted when anyting moves on them.
How do i either sort out the 1360*765 res so it does not have this issue or add in the 1366*768 res so games pick it up, is there anything i can tweak in windows or in the drivers themselves, or would i need to write new EDID data and input that into the nv_disp.inf?
I have added the custom res using nvidia cp and powerstrip.
I had this problem setting customer res on my HD4670 but windows detected my screen can go to 1920*1080 and all games would allow me to set to res to 1366*768 in game or force it using a command.
Any help would be great.

Yeah i should have said i have done that, tried drivers from 197 up from a fresh install of windows, This is the resolution my tv looks best, it can go up to 1080i but it doesnt look that good on it, it is slightly beeter on 1366*768 than at 720p, the instruction manual actually recommends it when connected to computer.
This problem is only a problem when playing dx9 games I have found, dx10 finds the 1366*768 res fine where as dx9 only goes up to 1360*765.
Yes i am conencted via an adapter, used two separate ones as a matter of fact.

DX is updated, this TV can go up to 1080i, i used to use on my HD4670 when I needed more desktop space and I also use it for a time on ps3 before i missed the higher refresh rate on 720p.

it can handle 1080i, other words 1920*1080@ max of 30hz, 1366*768 is at 60hz, another reason why I prefer it.

I am pretty sure it is because I have to manually insert the edid data into the nividia driver before it installs and i think the edid data is slightly off, which it can be in some flat screens, I did not have to do this on my HD4670 hence why I had no problem.

Apparently this is a very common driver problem with nividia which they refuse to recognise, this is the guide i followed to get the colours and text correct:

Basically I think I am looking for some kind registry tweak to allow it to report the correct resolution so I dont have to manually add it in using ps or nvidia cp or i need to write my own EDID data and input it into the nv_disp file, and that could take a while for a problem that only causes issues in dx9 games and is only noticeable you look real close
This appears to be a relatively unique problem but I like challenges, most people either just wouldn't care or prob wont notice it during gameplay.
