Games not running 60 FPS on GTS 450

Whats wrong with my computer? Games are laggy?
I have a problem, the most games is running low FPS on highest graphics. Games like crysis 2, Battlefield bad company 2, Fear 3 etc. With my computer specs I feel like i should be able to max out graphics and run the games on 60 FPS, cause my friend can max his games and we have the same specs. And yes I have the LATEST DRIVERS for everything in my computer. Is my computer too weak? and also, when i run games in DX11 my graphic card overheats, the fan is working but still it gets overheated. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

    My Computer Specs are:

    Gainward GeForce GTS 450 1gb
    AMD Phenom II x6 1055t 2.8 ghZ
    Samsung SATA 2.0 1 tb
    4 gb memory

Ascended, welcome to the Seven Forums.

Hate to say it but you're expecting high end performance from a mid range card. Here's a few benchmarks of that card and those games,

The only way that card is going to get 60 FPS in games like that is at lower settings and a resolution less than 1280x1024.

    Yes as Stormy says.

Are you sure your friend has exactly the same hardware as you? Doe's he run the games at the same resolution as you?

    Cheers

    I would say at least a GTX560 or a HD 6870

Also you need to make sure your power supply is up to the job.

Needs to be a quality branded one with a minimum of 500 watts, preferable a bit more.

Okay thanks for the tips, but also my GTS 450 overheats like hell! ive never OC'd it or anything. When I play BFBC2 on medium I can play a while then it gets overheated and the screen turns white, this happened just a few min ago. Is it broke? or do I need to buy more coolers for it?. I feel like the fan on the card that it comes with should be enough... Its a bit frustrating cause I just put lots of money in upgrading my computer..

    Thanks in adv.

Can you find it online? Or if not post a picture of it, preferably with the side panel off.
