logic applied - it worked fine on Windows Vista - does not work on Windows 7 - software problem, not hardware problem

But which component is incompatible? Cable or monitor? The biggest change in Windows 7 in this department is it's complete reliance on monitor EDID information. If the cable doesn't pass it then anything goes.

interesting - I have swapped (changed) the monitor cables when I changed the monitors, did not change the dvi connector.

So it's the connector on the video card? Is are there any adapters involved like VGA-DVI, etc? The monitor works when connected to the other connector?

Have you tried querying the monitor using MonInfo? http://www.entechtaiwan.com/files/moninfo.exe

fixed it - went to NVIDIA site and downloaded the VISTA 64 display drivers - installed those over the WIN7 drivers I had loaded earlier, and the monitor turned right on. I knew it was software, not hardware Thanks for all your responses!

Has anyone successfully managed to get video displayed on both monitors? Unlike in XP when I watch a video, it is only played back on my primary monitor.
I can't get my 46" LCD TV and my 20" monitor to both work at the same time with Win7 like I can in WinXP. I use HDMI connection between the two. I suppose it's an ATI Catalyst problem as of this time.
