    Problem with dual monitor selection

    Hi
This has been driving me nuts for months now! I have two monitors, thus:

1: Dell 20" LCD via DVI
2: Samsung 40" LCD TV via VGA
    Multiple mode: Extend these displays

Now, the Dell is my main display, it even says "This is currently your main display" in the display res window. So, i boot up, and regardless of which one/both switched on/off, it ALWAYS sends the display of POST/splash/Boot manager to the Samsung, not the Dell!! The only way I can get the Dell to display it is unplug the VGA cable from the Samsung before booting!
Any ideas anyone? Any help greatly appreciated.

TIA (That's Thanks In Advance, my name's not TIA! :))

Nothing to do with Windows as Windows hasn't even started to load or that you can do anything about from Windows. Probably find that the card is hardwired/coded in its bios to use the VGA connection as the default when it is used, which if that is what it is the only way to "fix" it would be to mod the video card's bios to change the default. Not really a recommended solution.

What he said ^ The post screen is before windows is even loaded so it has nothing to do with which display is set to the main display. Its a function of the video card. My GT220 does the same thing only in reverse. If only a one monitor is connected to the VGA connector the post screen shows on that monitor. As soon as I connect another monitor to the DVI connector the post screen moves to that monitor. In my case the monitor on my DVI connector is my main monitor so I guess I lucked out. Even if it was the other way around I wouldn't loose any sleep over it.
