    2 different Nvidia cards?

    Hi all.

Just a thought. I'm currently running an XFX 260 Black Edition on my Asus P5Q Pro MB.
I still have my old card- A BFG 8800GTS OC 512MB.
I kept meaning to ebay it but never got round to it.
Is there any way I could usefuly use it in my present set up?

    Cheers, John:)

Could throw it in as a Physx card. Won't be able to SLI it, though, as the cards need to be identical.

John, you could use that 8800GTS 512MB as a dedicated PhysX Card in your second PCI-E slot. You can't do SLI since that motherboard was made for Crossfire.

Is it worth it? It will help a little if you play any games which use PhysX, but power needs will increase as well as the heat in your case. Plus you are already using a GTX 260 which already does PhysX. Using the 8800GTS as a PPU will just off load some of the work your GTX 260 is doing.

    Edit:

I see I spend too much time Googling and typing as Everlong beat me to it.

    Thanks for the replies fellas.
It looks like it's hardly worth doing.I could sell the card but I doubt it's worth much now.
I might just donate it to a needy friend.

    Thanks again, John

PS. If anyone wants it (preferably UK) I'll send it to them. No point in it sitting in its box doing nothing. J:)

Wow that's really nice of you John. The 8800GTS 512MB G92 is still a great card. Going rate for it used is around $75 USD. I always sell my old cards to help take the sting out of buying a new one. Only way I can afford things usually. I'm sure you'll find a taker quickly since you're giving it away.

Amazingly no one took me up on this offer of a free graphics card.
You lot must be so up to date that this old thing is ancient history.
I thought someone who already had one of these would want it for SLI.
Anyway I've now donated it to a friend who doesn't game at all. Seems a pity but there you go.

    Cheers all, J:)
