Screen flickering in games after pc upgrade

    Hi,

I recently upgraded alot of the parts for my computer and it was working fine, but then all of a sudden the screen started freezing every 2 seconds for about a millisecond which makes it look like it flickers. After playing metro 2033 and league of legends this occurs..

Have the latest drivers installed for my gtx 550 ti too..

Any help would be great !

    Thanks

Have you tried turning on v-sync. When you turn up the specs in a game you may sometimes need to turn v-sync on to get ride of flickering or lag on the screen.

yeah i've tried with all combinations of graphic settings, high - low v sync on/off still no luck...

It does seem to stop sometimes, like at the very start of the game its great and then after about 20 seconds it starts every second

EDIT: just started playing guild wars and i have no issues what so ever :s

    Hi

Did you install any of the software utilities that came with your card? I just upgraded my card to an MSI 580 GTX and made the mistake of installing the MSI auto update software and had a lot of system instability issues and image issues. These were all resolved when I removed the utility.

Right, It's doing it when I play deus ex now and it gets sooo annoying.

It was fine up until I changed the motherboard and the ram, games ran perfectly at real high fps when i had my old m4a78... but now i have the newer m5478L and it runs worse .. I'm so confused =(

What card was you using before? I ask because I was using a 4890 then went to a 5850, my system applied the 4890 settings to the 5850....

What is the driver version that you currently have?

Is the screen flickering happening only in games?

You can check the optimal settings for the game and modify the in game settings accordingly and check if it helps.
