    Seeking help with dual monitoring

    Hi,

I looked around the forums for a tutorial on how to set up a dual monitor but i didn't find exactly what i was looking for. I hear there's different ways to do this and depends on your video card?
I am really just looking for a way to have a total of 2 monitors...

If you don't see what you need over in my system specs and need any information about my PC, feel free to ask!

    Thanks alot

Check this Microsoft tutorial: Dual monitors: How to connect two monitors to one computer

You will also need a graphics card with two monitor ports or two graphics cards with a single port each. Best to Google them I would have thought.

Yes, if the card specifications are correct.

"Two independent display controllers. Drive two displays simultaneously with independent resolutions, refresh rates, color controls and video overlays for each display"

okay cool, i thought the same you did.

i think i should be able to plug it right in because its a DVI port, there is 2 and 1 is being used right now so yeah...right? i won't need any fancy cables or anything

If you have two monitors each with a DVI socket and a graphics card with two DVI ports then you need two DVI-DVI cables.

I was given to understand you already have the cables you need.

I just got a laptop and I want to dual monitor it. It has a HDMI outlet, how do I go about doing this?

    Thanks!
