Install Failure of Nvidia Drivers
I've been attempting to install the drivers for my new Nvidia GTX 460 today and haven't had any luck. Every time I run the installer it ends partway through the installation with the message: NVIDIA Installer failed
NVIDIA Update -Not Installed
PhysX System Software -Not Installed
3D Vision Controller Driver -Not Installed
HD Audio Driver -Not Installed
NVIDIA Control Panel -Failed
Graphics Driver -Failed
3D Vision Driver -Not Installed
I've scoured the Nvidia forums and these forums as well and haven't had any luck with the fixes I've found.
Things I've tried :
- Many different versions of the driver... Same result
- Uninstalling old drivers, booting into safemode, using Driver Sweeper and attempting to install... Same Result
-Performed a clean boot and then installed... Same
-I have also installed manually through the windows update by navigating to the source files of the driver. Here the result is different; it tells me that the driver was installed successfully, but upon restarting as prompted, it reverts back to the Standard VGA Adaptor.
I've never had this problem before and didn't with my last card which was a NVIDIA 9800GTX.
If I attempt to auto update the driver through the control panel it does recognize my card and downloads and update, but after attempting to install it gives the message, "There is no driver selected for the device information set of element."
TL;DR- Drivers just won't INSTALL! 6 hours and counting. Please help me =)
