Is the ATI 5970 classed as xfire?

    Hi

I have an ATI 5970 and I have been having various problems with it. I am at the moment running without CCC and associated drivers, this has stopped freezes and crashes but I don't think the card is performing as it should. The only drivers therefore are the ones windows shows in device manger, where there are 2 cards shown indecently, although it is only one physical card, so does that mean its xfire??
So what should I do, is there anything else I should install when I try CCC again.

    Any help greatly appreciated.

    Um, yes it is,

    ATI Radeon

What it is is two HD5850's on a single PCB,

Mr Pink it almost sounds like your card could be going bad i it starts acting up once you install the proper driver for it, as the card will act/perform differently over the default Windows driver (different clock speeds, voltages, etc). If that is what it is about the only thing you can do is look to the card manufacturer about getting it RMA'ed.

What is it doing when you install the driver?
