Win 7 and Nividia 7900 GT

I just put windows 7 on my second computer. Its kind of low end by todays standards. AMD Athalon 64 4000+, Nvidia 7900 GT, 2 gigs of DDR400 memory. I think the video card is a little lite side. Every so often when a video is playing the screen artifacts. 100% of the time when I start a game the screen artifacts. I tried updating drivers to the latest ones. When I do that the screen artifacts as soon as windows boots. If I leave the drivers as is when windows does its automatic update for them I am ok, but still no games and 50% on video. I lent a friend of mine an extra 8800 gt card I took out of my main computer when i upgraded it to newer hardware. I am going to get it back tonight and see if this solves my problems. Any ideas/help would be great.

Usually screens artifact because of bad overclocks. If you're overclocking reset back to stock speeds. Otherwise you might try even downclocking your card.

Everything in this computer is bone stock. I will try downclocking see what happens.
