Video out to TV related question. Quality and compatibility

I have a video card that supports HDMI, VGA, as well DVI outputs and am running it to my 1080/120hz TV. GT 440 - Newegg

What I am wondering is if there is a significant difference in picture quality amongst these three outputs, assuming max resolution is not an issue. Below are a few scenarios in which I was wondering about as well...

If you were to run a VGA cable with a DVI adapter the quality would still be that of the VGA cable correct?

Is there a reason that VGA seems to fit resolutions onto my screen better than HDMI?

Being a 1080p television would all of these connection types be able to run 1080p or just some?

Running a VGA cable with DVI adapters wont give any significant difference in performance and you probably couldnt tell.

A "VGA" cable should support the same range of resolutions. i use " " because VGA isnt VGA as VGA's limit is 640x480 16bit. we are talking 1987 tech :P
modern VGA comes in XGA (1366x768), XGA+ (1440x900), SXGA+ (1680x1050), UXGA (1920x1200)and QXGA (2560x1600).
Your GPU has D-Sub which i think is around 2040x1500 as a limit (might be slightly out)

And yeah all connections will run fine presuming your tv has them all lol my tv is LED and doesnt have space for anything other than HDMI lol.

VGA is an anologe signal.

DVI and HDMI are Digital signals.

You would get better Picture quality through any of the Digital outputs.

Even though you have a 1080P television, HDTV pictures are only brodcast in 720p and 1080i http://reviews.cnet.com/hdtv-resolution/

But that won't effect a 1080p input signal from a pc

Personally I'd go the HDMI route as it makes source changing easier on most tv's well samsungs it does anywho.

But I wouldn't worry to much, I run a 5mt dvi to hdmi cable under my carpet to my AV home cinema receiver and then a 1mt HDMI cabel out of that to my tv. I suffer no loss in performance and or quality. Battlefield 3 still looks really really good!!

I would like to use HDMI but the only resolution that actually fits on the TV right is 1024x768 while VGA supports higher resolutions properly, why I'm not sure. I could invest in a DVI to HDMI cable but I don't want the same results as what my HDMI cable is putting out. I had this problem with my previous TV as well, same graphics card.
