Driver update for NVIDIA GeForce 7100 / NVIDIA nForce 630i?

I'm not a gamer, but rather an enthusiastic net surfer and would like my present graphics card to be as fast as easily possible. To do this, it has been suggested that I update my card's driver with downloading/installing Nvidia's latest driver (285.62 WHQL, Win7 64-bit...4G RAM, Firefox 9). Would this be the the right thing to do?

If you are not having problems, I would not go looking for trouble:)

I have heard this before, but really don't understand why. As far as I can tell, the present driver from about 2 tears ago (one that came with the computer), is doing fine except maybe in one area. The Firefox theme that I am using (Noia 4 Black) doesn't quite work right. With FF's Hardware Accelerator checked, clicking Restore Down causes FF's interface to become mostly black but then within a few seconds everything fills in and is OK. There is a workaround: Windows keyboard key--tap it twice. Also, on a test of browser speed, the browser went from 17 FPS to 8 FPS. Even though I don't now if this is a meaningful difference, it would seem to me that a Nvidia suggested driver update would speed things up a big. Not a gamer, but Nvidia does say that this updated driver would allow one to play such games as Battlefield 3.
