Installed graphics card, monitor error (check signal cable)?

I just installed my ATI Radeon X1950 XT sapphire graphics card to my computer. I inserted it into the slot and plugged it in. Now when I turn on my computer the monitor keeps getting the Check Signal Cable error. I have it plugged in properly and everything not sure what is going on.

My computer is a HP Pavilion a1740n.

    any ideas??

Hi, it could be a duff cable or there may be a damaged pin... can you try another one? :)

Sorry I am a bit new to computers what is the "duff cable". Do you mean the one that connects the computer to the monitor?

    Thanks.

Yes. That's where the cable plugs in.

    Monitor >>>> back of card.
