    The ULTIMATE card?

    Hello guys.

I've seen a lot of reviews and stuff on websites like motherboards.org and much more. So I wanted to know, just for the fun of it, which is the best card on the market at the moment. The ASUS GTX 590 amazed me at first sight.

The idea of you can run three monitors without SLI or Crossfire, is an awesome idea, thanks for listening to the users ASUS!

Newegg had a lot of cons but most of it was just BSing. What's your guys opinion on a 3GB card? Is it worth getting?

Pretty disappointing that there is no HDMI, seeing how basically that is the input of choice for today's devices.

    The GPU is pricey though.

    If you're looking at price/performance...

    GTX 570 $340
    Passmark - 3,569
    GTX 580 $470
    Passmark - 3,917
    GTX 590 $750
    Actually lower - Passmark - 3,272

    Hmmm...

Yep, looks sweet. But, like you, I would go with the 580 for the price.

The 590 is an x2 card - it is SLI.

And 3 monitors off one card isn't an ASUS exclusive. AMD/ATI can take the credit for that with the 5xxx series. All manufacturers can do 3 monitors off one 590.

Usable VRAM is only 1.5GB - not 3GB. It's 1.5GB per card that is mirrored. The 3GB angle is mostly marketing.

Most of it's potential is wasted on resolutions below 1920x1200.

For tri-screen gaming (surround) the lack of vram can also be a little limiting.

Worth it? Depends on what you plan to use it for.
