    TV-PC connection - No signal

    Hi
Having trouble conncecting the PC to my tv via a component cable. I have a blank screen on the tv and nvidia control panel only gives me options of s-video and composite connections.

    Specs:
    NVidia Quadro FX1700
Component cable via PNY HD breakout box
    TV is Samsung LED tv.

All drivers up to date, cant think of what to do !!

Any help is greatly appreciated or just saying that there is no reason why it shouldnt work

    :)

Have you follwed the how to guide in the NV control panel help ?
access help from the top menu and go down to -display configuration-
    -how to-
This tells you the steps you need to go through for it to work, it's a bit more than you might expect, easy enough to follow though.

Doesn't the TV have a VGA input socket?

yeah but i would rather not connect it up using a DVI to VGA as i already use both the DVI outputs on the card for 2 monitors. The whole idea being that the TV is used as a third display that i go to when i need to. In short - i can choose to either use the second monitor or the tv to extend the desktop.
The other way would be to manually switch the cables from monitor to tv but that would mean having to move furniture to access the back of the PC or buy a cheap graphics card with an HDMI
Yeah read the help guide too.

    I looked at your card

    Newegg.com - PNY VCQFX1700-PCIE-PB Quadro FX 1700 512MB 128-bit GDDR2 PCI Express x16 Workstation Video Card

It seems a lot similar to my card just a little less big but about the same power

    Newegg.com - EVGA 320-P2-N811-AR GeForce 8800 GTS 320MB 320-bit GDDR3 PCI Express x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card

Yours has 2 dvi with an s-video is what i think it is called mine has the same 2 dvi with s-video as you can see.

Now me personally i tried to connect my tv up using the s-video like you with the other moniters but it wouldent give me the full 1080p with nice graphics.

Just for the heck of it unplug your other monitors and see if the tv turns on.

Does your tv have an s-video port on it so you can plug it in direct? Instead of with the s-video to component converter?

    Thanks

What i did is i used a dvi to hdmi converter and my 48" tv looks real nice with that set up.

Just a stupid question for those who know more about graphics cards: Can his card support 3 monitors? Or just 2

Oh and one more thing could you give me a model number on your tv

    thanks for the response.
i will try unplugging all the other monitors.

Strictly speaking it is not an S-Video connection it is a 9 pin DIN connection, similar family to s-video but with more pins so carries more information.
The TV doesnt have an s-vid input and i would rather not use a DVI as i would then have to manually switch between monitor and the TV.

The question about how many monitors the card supports is - it supports 3 monitors but can only output on 2 at a time.

    TV model is UE32D5520
