    Black screen for 1 second

My screen occasionally and unpredictably goes black for about 1 second, and then returns to normal. Just all black, no cursor. I don't think I've changed any settings or installed updates or new software to cause this problem. My power saving settings include never turning off the display and never putting the computer to sleep. I don't think it's the screen saver coming on, either. nVidia driver is up to date, as is Windows. Any ideas? Thanks.

I have ATI video cards, so maybe it is different on Nvidia, but usually the screen goes blank on my systems, when driver resets either due to error, or let's say during video driver update. I have automatic driver recovery on (not sure exactly how it's called in the menu), so in case of error, driver resets and keeps going. could it be something similar happening on your system? Check error event, should say something there.

That's interesting, kronckew. Me too. Doesn't seem to be happening after I left Firefox. Video card is listed in my system specs.

I'll have to check the automatic drive recovery, if I even have that, and error events, although no error message appears.
