And, the one im receiving is not in Trifire. Is only a single 4870x2.
Actually, I don't think that you should give too much money for graphic card at this moment. ATi will launch it's DX11 cards in September, nVidia will do it probably by the end of the year, those cards will be significantly more powerful, which makes buying GTX295 or 4870x2 right now - a waste of money, by my opinion.

I wouldn't buy anything more expensive then GTX275 or 4890, it is quite enough for HD resolution, then I would use it for the next 6-months or so, and then I would replace it for some DX11 card for ~250-300$ that will be at least powerful as is today's GTX295 (I think it will be stronger). If you do so, you will be able to use it comfortably for at least next 1-1.5 years.

I'm building my first self-built system this decemeber, in the 15th-17th time span. I REALLY REALLY hope that the nVidia 300 series cards(if thats what they are going to be called) have debuted by then. I've still got three months before I start building, and the graphics cards havent even been released, but I'm crazy excited already. Hopefully the new nVidia cards will be out by then, and hopefully EVEN MORE powerful than the 295GTX. Anyone have any articles talking about nVidias plans?

well as far as im aware there's no ''official'' specs floating around yet, but were certainly going to be looking at 45nm DX11 cards with at least 480 - 500 SP's IMO

but be prepared to remortgage your houses to own one....lol

Radeon HD 4870x2 vs newer cards
I currently have a Radeon HD 4870x2 video card. How does it compare to newer cards? I am considering getting a Radeon HD 7870, but would it be worth the money yet to upgrade? Or should I wait out another generation or two? Also, I want a card that runs reasonable temps, and I don't care at all...

7 and ATI 4870x2 - Hard Locks
I originally did a clean install to a new HDD using 7, Microsoft's default drivers and ATI's 7 Beta graphics drivers, and the system randomly hard locks while gaming. Different games (WoW, The Witcher, Bioshock, etc) net the same result. Works very well for some random period of time. Then the...

So I just reinstalled from the beta (7000) to the RC (7100), fresh install on a separate HDD. I noticed that I was getting alot of lag, not dissimilar to when the graphics card drivers aren't installed. I downloaded the latest drivers from the ATI website, specifically the 9.4 version, but it...
