I had same problem when I installed drivers via Windows update.
So if you installed them too, you should uninstall all drivers and install only latest nVidia drivers without those from Windows update.

Don't forget to uninstall in safe mode using driver sweeper :)

Drivers can be also uninstalled through device manager...
    Worked for me.

Sorry, my post must have came across the wrong way. Uninstall like normal and then run Driver Sweeper in safe mode to get rid of those leftover files that could cause problems.

I don't know why you guys think that it's necessary to use 3rd party programs to remove the drivers, I have never had to uninstall a driver or run Driver Sweeper to upgrade to a new driver, maybe for ATI drivers that's necessary (as they are all buggy as hell) but I don't think it applies to Nvidia drivers, they have always been trouble free for me and I always have the latest drivers so it's usually once a month they get updates.

Well driver leftovers can cause stability and startup issues.

From the first time Driver Sweeper helped me with a problem, I never went back.

It's like a clean install vs an upgrade. But to each his own right?
