I do my uninstall through device manager and never had problems..
I guess so, but I'm pretty sure that the old drivers get removed anyway when installing new drivers,so in that respect it is always a clean install and if nvidia thought it was a problem then surely they would implement a driver sweeper in the install process, anyway as you say, "each to his own".
Hello everyone did all of the above and games still crashing any ideas??? cheers!!!
@eamonn79,
I am having the same issue with a 9600gt and Win7 RTM 64bit. All games crash after about 10 minutes or so. Using the latest Nvidia drivers. Going to try the uninstall utility in safe mode just to see but don't have much hope for that as you already mentioned you tried it.
I have a feeling this is Nvidia's way of nudging us "hey, time to buy a new video card". Maybe a new driver release will resolve the issue and I'm also going to keep trying to fix it on my own... but in the meantime I'm also looking very closely at the new ATI 5870 & 5850 cards.
Anyway, if I find something I'll be sure to let you know.
