    1680x1050

I have an Nvidia Geforce 9600m GT and an HP Pavilion dv5-1099nr laptop. I would like to use 1680x1050 instead of 1280x800 (it says native) for resolution, but it doesn't have the option for me to select it. Any way I can do this? I believe that my card and my laptop's screen is compatible with 1680x1050. On my old laptop, Asus G1, I was able to get 1680x1050 with nvidia geforce go 7700, but not this new laptop.

I've tried using RivaTuner and PowerStrip, but I'll admit that I don't know what to do.

    Laptop screen's size/name: Samsung 154at07-h01 15inch
    Laptop's specs: Product Specifications
    Drivers: Dox's Forceware 185.85 (Forceware 185.85 - NVISION)

    Thanks in advance.

This is what is spec you provided via link telling: 15.4" Diagonal WXGA High-Definition HP BrightView Widescreen (1280 x 800) Display, so this is the highest resolution...
And download latest nVidia drivers (190.38) from nVidia's official site

LCDs have a fixed pixel grid, going above or below that is not recommend. Going above in most cases is locked out. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Native_resolution

    Hi there
Don't forget that also as well as the correct video driver you also need the Intel express video accelerator driver for your laptops chipset.

For example mine has a GM965 chipset -- dowload the Intel driver --In your case you might find them on the HP site .

    Cheers
