Can't add a second monitor with GeForce 9400GT

    Hi all,

As per title, I have been trying to get my dual monitors working on my Windows 7 machine. It used to work under XP but now with both monitors plugged in, I get no mouse curser on the log in screen, and after logging in, the screen goes blank. The second monitor (VGA) doesnt even show the POST startup and never gets any input. If I unplug the primary monitor (DVI) the second (VGA) monitor works and vice versa.

I have installed the latest Nvidia drivers but no change.

    Any ideas please anyone?

    Thanks.

    Hi Snoopstar,

I have a very similar problem with an EVGA 9400GT on Windows 7 64. My dual dvi monitors worked under Vista 64. With Windows 7 the second DVI port refuses to put out a digital signal. I still have no working secondary monitor under Win 7.

I'm becoming convinced the NVIDIA drivers are to blame...

You can see the extensive troubleshooting that I've been through by visiting the thread on Technet below. (different cables, monitors, every driver know to man etc)

There are more and more people with this problem it seems.... Could be time for an ATI card
