Just a thought but, did you ever try changing the mouse?

it doesn't feel like a mouse problem. the mouse still works, the cursor is just not being displayed. also the mouse works 100% fine with my work computer every day.

i've messed with the voltages before, everything should be set proper, unless you can further elaborate.

should i not assume that it's a bad pci-e slot? i've been using the computer for a day using the middle pci-e slot, and no crash whatsoever. i've booted 5+ times into win7 and 5+ times into vista, no issues whatsoever.

am i wrong to point the finger at the mobo and rma it?

the 2nd slot does run @ a speed of x16, so its fine in terms of bandwidth..... but im not sure if running a single card in the 2nd slot poses a problem..??

have you benched this rig with the card in the primary slot..??, if so just bench it again & if there's no performance drop.... i cant see a problem.

if it is a faulty slot, ring the ppl you got it from & explain that you cant run a card in the primary slot & you want a new one...

not sure what benchmarking method i am supposed to use, but the windows assessment index comes up with the same numbers. i honestly would keep the mobo just to avoid the hassle of the RMA, but i can't use this pci-e slot and have my bottom mount psu in the case at the same time...

If you do have a bad pci-e slot what else is lurking in the board waiting to fail? RMA the board.

How interesting that you say it was a problem with your motherboard, since I've had a few of the same problems as you and it turned out they were driver related.

Specifically, the over-saturated effect and the high-contrast driver crashing issue. I recently upgraded my driver to 190.38 from 186.16 and that is when I started experiencing the problems. Doing a bit of Google searching I found this thread and just had to mention that it's bizarre the motherboard swap solved those issues, though I guess it could be coincidence.

As in, you had the same driver issues, but you had a bunch of other issues going on too.

Welcome to Seven Fprums. You really should have started your own thread but that's something else. You also need to fill in all your system specs especialy your PSU. Have you tried all the suggestions provided in this thread? Thanks. Fabe
