Windows 7: aspect hdmi

i have a 720p monitor and a gt 520 vid card now and its plugged in with hdmi cable
my monitor has no aspect ratio but my desktop is bigger than its suposed to be past the edges of my screen plz help

Hey, I've got a NV53 series Gateway laptop brand new and I am trying to fix the aspect ratio options but I can't. Does anyone know where I can find it? I've looked everywhere and brought it to best buy and they couldn't find it either so I need help!!
