I was using 1080i instead of 1080p for awhile. It was bugging me as to why I wasn't able to use 1080p.
So I booted up my PC in the safe mode and didn't change anything, rebooted and 1080p has been working ever since.
Try booting in the safe mode if all else fails. The safe mode cures up some problems because of the drivers it loads.
Hope it works. Good Luck!!

Try this and post back.
I have been using HDMI 2 the whole entire time. I have not tried HDMI 1 though. When I get home from work today I will test it out. Thanks.

I had an amd 4...5...and now 6... series.
The thing "normally" is easy, graphic card dvi or hdmi to t.v. hdmi 2 then you start the pc and thats it.
Try this,in the Catalyst go to Common Display Tasks and use the detect displays option.

Perhaps it's trying to display both monitors... In this case the second monitor would be of lesser resolution.. In the past I had the number 1 monitor not display at all.. Then I had them display the same desktop.. This is when I realized the HDTV was set wrong or lowered Rez because of card limitations... Just a thought
Good luck
