    can you plug into the onboard video output jack? See if you get video there ..

    I'll take a look when I am at home, but the only video outputs I saw are on my GPUs

    I had this happen before , the bios was reset then the video card would not work at all , the onboard video was enabled . Hooked up to the onboard video , entered the bios , unselected the onboard video , restarted .. connected to the external card , all working .....

    Just question, did you purchase the new card because you thought the old one quit working?

    Reason I ask is maybe it's not the card but the board.

    I suggest you try them both in a different system to make sure.

    seriously I think he needs to try a different adapter slot from the monitor to the card

    Sounds like he has it hooked up completly wrong
