Nvidia driver installation issues driving me crazy!!!

I have a GTX295 and was using 190.38's with no problems. I decided to try the new 190.61's so I uninstalled the old drivers and also did a drivesweaper (guru3d) iteration.

Then when I reboot WIN7 try's to install some lame driver and asks me to reboot again, if I try to install the 190.61's over that... The control panel is messed up and also the right click Nvidia control panel context menu is not available!!

Not to mention the Nhancer won't open because it keeps saying theres an error in NVAPS.XML... Driving me freaking crazy!

I can't get WIN7 to not install its lame ass drivers , I've tried using 'disable' in device-manager and then installing the new Nvidia drivers, but same freaking problems... No context menu and Nhancer not working. AGHR!!!!

System specs and Win7 version would be helpful. :) The older builds would try to reinstall the drivers but not the newer builds. It may help to shut off auto updates and disconnect from the internet before you uninstall the old drivers.

You might also want to try to newer WHQL 190.62's.

I'm using the same build and just installed those drivers. Windows didn't even attempt to install it's drivers for me. It was a bigger problem with the older builds.

At least something worked LOL, everyone complains about that but it's not happening to me anymore with the build 7600 for some reason.

That is probably true also, in fact most of the Nvidia add on's do not work as they should, especially Ntune and Nvidia performance software. Best to get rid of them I think.

Not to mention that most of the stuff that Nhancer did can now be done in the Nvidia control panel.

Hey!! I have a similar problem too, im running Win7x64 (build7600) and 2 GeForce 7950GTX cards but the drivers installed won't let me switch to SLI mode or even use the second card. I also tried installing the new 190.62 drivers to fix this problem but i get a message during installation "The setup program could not find drivers that are commpatible with my current hardware" and im stuck there !!$%&
Also have 4GB RAM installed but Win7 arguments that only 2.5 are usable...
    any feedback is much appcreciatedd!!!!!!!!!

Well good luck I have had the 7600 64 bit RTM build for sometime now and can't get it to run in SLI. It wants to close nview and returns a resolution of 800x600. So I have searched everywhere slizone nvdia forums here and noone can seem to figure out why. If you do Plesae let me know. thyanks and welcome to seven forums. Fabe
