Guess I'm not going to teach dolphins how to play a piano since I just cleared CMOS, Bios and install fresh copy of Win7 7600 and YET! the stupid, idiotic nvidia driver doesn't want to install!

I've had nVidia my entire life, this is the last nVidia card that I'm going to own. If nVidia cant wake up and realize that it's impossible to install their drivers, than them.

IT is Windows7 fault, not the nvidia. 7 still VERY bugged. today I got BSOD, system hang, UAC doesn't work properly, and even when i tried to install 190.62 they auto-installed their stock drivers. I chose NEVER install drivers for me, but windows don't understand what "never" means. That and many more just after 5 days of Win7 use.
I don't say that they are bad, but they are still very buggy, that's not a surprise for my, I use windows since Win95.

You know IM really sorry you are having a bad time with win 7. We would be happy to give you a hand because Im sure the change from win 95 to win 7 must be huge. We could be of more assistance if we knew what kind of hardware you have. To help us help you could you fill in your system specs (lower left corner).

    Thanks in advance

Do you mean all this time, Microsoft was responsible for Nvidia driver development, and compatability with windows 7??? I guess its Microsofts fault that the latest batch of drivers couldnt pass WHQL certification ?? Place the blame for this at the feet of Nvidia, not the operating system ... there are ten's of thousands of very satisfied W7 users that do not have your problem. Think maybe they're onto something??

Try doing this, unpack the driver, remove the physx software out of the unpacked folder, run the setup.exe from inside those unpacked folders. Reboot and then install the Phyx drivers.

Why that sarcasm? I use Windows Since Win95, also I used Linux and Mac OS and even DOS. That's not the point. I have no problems with installing drivers, i just don't like that when I chose NEVER install drivers for me windows still install them. Imo it's not so small bug. It should be fixed.

    Actually not sarcasm.

Both Tom (Tews) and I go way back with windows. We often look longingly on the days when all you needed was a single 1.44 disk with fdisk on it. Its just that to go from win95 to win 7 is a big leap. We are honestly offering you help If you choose to stay on win 7

I FIXED IT AND I DONT HAVE ANY IDEA HOW.

    ---

Although what I did. This would make a bad research since when doing a research you make one adjustment at a time and to a test, but I went all in and.. it worked..

    - Remove driver using Device manager.
    - Reboot and press F8(can be different by motherboards) to enter the screen where I can pick safe mode ect..
    - Choose the 2nd or 3rd last chose that sounded something like this "disable driver signature somethin somethin"
    - Booted and windows installed the WDDM driver.
    - I installed the driver I wanted, 190.62, and it got stuck on about 30%, than I was asked to install physx driver, and when all was done I got "Driver has not been modified" the same error I used to get, athough now nVidia control panel appears in my control panel.

Thank you all for the tips, really helped me out and probably one of the reasons why I didn't blow a hole thru my comp with a shotgun..

I'd also like to add that I got a short fuse, if something doesn't work that should so very simply work I tent to snap. Kthx nVidia.

I could not tell that at all Joker.... btw- I have installed each of the last 10 or more versions of nVidia drivers without a single hitch. I also switched video cards a few weeks back from 2x 8800 GT in SLi to a single GTX 285 2 GB OC card and again, not a single hitch. All has worked absolutely perfect every single time.
