Graphic turns off on boot up

Help please.
I have a windows 7 os that on bootup gets to the logo then it turns the monitor off so that it says no signal. I can hear the sound of it booting up...no signal. This is a 30 day old build that has been working perfectly. I used the onboard graphics card...same results. Everything works in safe mode(where I'm typing from now)but I cannot access much. I placed this post here because I only had this problem after the latest update(even though I'm not sure they are related). Any suggestions you might have would be greatly appreciated. I had already tried to repair/and restore...no affect.

When you mention "last update" is that the graphic card driver? if so try uninstall that and go back 1 version and see if that helps and have you made sure that you installed 32 bit or 64 bit depending on your OS

Windows update. Graphics work fine in "safe mode" just not on boot. The last thing I see is the logo before log in screen. I hooked monitor to onboard graphics and I get the same thing.

Remove the updates that was installed with Windows Update, considering the card work in safe mode it have to be something that is starting up with windows or some other driver, you could also try disable all your autostart objects and see if that helps

I tried to remove update but I cannot get to it. Updates is not working(not sure if that is because in safe mode or what).When I go to startup file there is nothing in it.

I did system restore but I have the same results.I have already re-installed the graphic driver(works great in safe mode).

Try changing screen resolution on the graphics driver in Safe Mode to see if it will start normally.

Try an earlier Restore Point to make sure you can't get before the problem to start normally.

Try another monitor.

You could also try a test reinstall to a small partition you shrink from C to see if it starts normally, then Delete it to re-Extend in Disk Mgmt. If so then I would Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7 - same steps for retail.

Changing screen resolution did not work. From what I've read it acts like a bad activation code(turns off graphics at start up). Never got a warning and this is a legal version. Could it be corrupt somehow? How would I check for this in safe mode?

Activation issues would not present themselves that way at all. Instead you'd get a prompt in your System Tray. Check at Control Panel>System now to see if it needs activating.
