Real VNC Resolution Problem with headless macmini

    Hi there

I have a mac mini (2011 model with AMD Radeon HD 6630M) running Windows 7 64bit on Bootcamp. The mac is plugged to a Sony LED TV via HDMI. Everything works great so far. When I access the mac with VNC the resolution is as on TV (1920 x 1080). When the TV is off and I connect with VNC, the resolution is 640x480 and the monitor is set to "Mobile PC display". Unfortunately the resolution is not changeable in the display settings (under list all modes), as there are only resolutions with 640x480 as a choice. As you can imagine this sucks pretty much.

Is there a way I can force VNC to set another resolution? I've tried the registry settings under HKLM\System\Currentcontrolset\Control\Video with no luck.

    Thanks for any hint!

Seems to be a tough one... nobody? This does not necessarily have to be a mac-related problem. I basically just want to access a pc via VNC with no monitor attached. The pc (or mac mini) has a hdmi out.

Is there no possibility (via registry or whatever) to change resolution from 640x480?
