    Same Problems!!

Yeah, I have the same issue... A temporary fix is using the generic VGA drivers, system doesn't hang with those... BUT Win7 thinks my video isn't up to snuff for the Aero Glass visual styles, so I can't have those. I tried XP drivers, they work until I try and do full screen video OR Live Messenger (which is suuuper strange).. I've also tried Vista drivers, I got the blue screen of death. So to temporarily solve your issue upgrade your driver, choose "I want to pick a device from a list" and pick "Standard VGA Graphics Adapter" and reboot... should be good to use.

You're probably using XDDM Drivers.... It's been an issue with this beta... the only solution here is to have a WDDM-compliant graphics card.

    Try using overlays on MPC.

I have NO idea what your talking about.. I'm not that deep into computers.. I know the basics really.

Its a SiS Ultra256 chip set, according to the specs on my board.

The SiS Ultra256 graphics core otherwise known as the Mirage 2 is integrated into the SiS 760 chipset. I found a driver that's supposed to work on 7 from the Windows Update Catalog and uploaded it here http://tr.im/baarod

Thanks for that info.. It came up as Mirage 2 when I installed my XP drivers. I tried to use the driver you sent me, but I think that was designed for 64bit operation, I am using 32bit... my bad, shoul dhave told you that. Do you have the 32bit version of those drivers?

Please read the post made by Chappy here about playing media files in WMP and using a Windows 7 Codec Pack. Information here might provide the key in answering the faults in the issues you've encountered.

    Cheers

I verified the driver package is definately for Windows 7 32-bit. I uploaded XP drivers that might work because they were only a few months old.

If you need help loading the drivers let me know and I can post step by step instructions.

Well... I opened the cab file with windows explorer then copied them into a regular folder, then I went to upgrade the driver using the manual option, choosing it from a list then using the "Have Disk" option, pointing it to the folder where I copied the files from the cab file.... is that the right way to do it? I get a message saying its not compatible with 32bit... so I dunno what happened there

Alright, i got it to install. Does the same thing the update for the SiS chipset does through windows update... It freezes up during start-up. Am I SOL with this onboard video or what? Do I have to buy a card that has Windows 7 drivers available?
