Help me to get CCC to load

Yep this has been a little bug-a-boo for me. I keep un-installing and or upgrading my video drivers for my 5770's and only twice was Catalyst able to open. This was no big thing until I scored and installed my 2nd 5770 and I want to be able to enable and disable the Crossfire feature. Has anyone sourced a solution to this dilemma as the driver and CCC is installed but CCC won't open for some reason.

Nah Alan, it's not rare. (I only just saw this post)

In the past when I encountered this, I always went the uninstall ATI catalyst manager+drivers through add/remove programs first and then followed it up with a safe mode clean using driver sweeper.

    Download and install Driver Sweeper

With both cards in place+bridge attached

    ► Create a restore Point

► Uninstall Catalyst manager via add/remove programs (should remove CCC and drivers etc)

    ► reboot into safe mode

► Anaylse/clean ATI drivers and files with Driver Sweeper.

► Reboot into normal mode and install the driverset you want to use. (Use custom install to leave out stuff you don't want installed if you wish)

    ► Reboot (Optional)

CCC should be operational and CF enabled automatically. If not, manually enable CF through CCC.

Some times it's best to 'start from scratch' when adding a second card. Particularly when it comes to CCC.

I tried this three times and still CCC won't open. Looks like I'll have to schedule a call. Does anyone have a work around so I can see if my Crossfire is engaged or not and if not engage it?

OK so here is the cure.
Leave your updated ATi driver install in place. Go to your "C" drive most likely where you go to "Windows" then to "assembly", please sort by "Public Key Token" then scroll and look for all the "90ba9c70f846762e" files, highlight them and delete all, then reboot and the AMD VISION Engine Control Center will come up when you open it.

Odd that the old driver sweeper trick didn't work. But at least you got it sorted.
