42 in lcd as second monitor with ATI 2600hd

Everything with this setup is working fine except I can no longer completely get the 42in to display edge to edge. If I use the slider in the ATI ccc scaling options "which I normally use". The screen stretches mostly from top to bottom and does not fit horizontally. I am using the windows 7 beta driver from ATI.

Anyone get this type of setup working?

This is what Ive been able to find out.

I can get the 46" LCD to work full screen only if I set windows display properties to use one display .

    ie) " show desktop 2 only "

If I set the display properties to "duplicate these displays" I cannot fill the large 46" screen edge to edge , even with catalyst control.

So based on all that I think its a windows issue.

Anyone else having this type of issue?

Is there a setting on your TV that you can adjust? something like, 16:9, 4:3, Just scan, zoom, etc, Have a play about with them, see if that helps.

The thing is that in Vista I didnt have this problem. Catalyst control was able to make the adjustment no problem. I think Windows 7 is force feeding the wrong display info. I could be wrong I'm not sure.

Have you tried to boot the computer using only the 46" screen connected?

I do it this way and I get native resolution. Also , if it doesn't fill it, but it switches resolution correctly, then it is definitely a tv setting, in mine (42" Bravia) I had to disable the auto-adjust and change some widescreen options until it was filled.

It works fine when I select the TV as the only display. Its when I select to duplicate the displays from windows properties that I have a resolution issue.

If I have it set to duplicate and I click identify, this should place a number 1 and 2 on separate screens it shows 1 and 2 side by side on each screen. I dont think thats right. This tells me that its not using 2 different resolutions its only using one. There fore my large screen is not filling edge to edge.

Forgive me if am wrong, but if you duplicate 2 different sized screens your going to get a border round the larger screen? no?
